OK. Time to be honest about what could have been my worst date ever.
I met a guy on a dating site. Probably Christian Mingle. And he wanted to hang out with me it seemed. For some reason, it didn’t work out the first couple of times. I think he said he was snow mobiling every weekend and couldn’t see me. That kinda clued me in. But finally after the snow melted he finally had a weekend free and we met for drinks.
It really wasn’t amazing conversation, but hey, at the time, I knew that meeting as many guys as I could was the price of admission to meeting the one guy for me.
We had drinks. And he didn’t pay for mine. Again. Remember. I had already been clued in.
What I wasn’t expecting was what happened next. We drove to a dance hall and as soon as I got there a friend asked me to dance with him. At these dance events everyone dances with everyone so I looked at my date and said, “I’m just gonna dance with my friend then I’ll dance with you.”
Ladies get this. After I came back to find my date, he had vanished. He didn’t say goodbye. He just walked out. I texted him. He didn’t answer. I never heard from him again.
I’m telling you. Guys are weird. But you know what? I didn’t care. I kept dancing. I laughed it off. Because at the end of the day, he is the one who missed out and a much more amazing guy was waiting in my future.
If you can stay happy after the crappy dates, you’ll eventually get to the one that feels like a dream.
